What is VoIP

Voice Over Internet Protocol (VoIP), is a technology that permits you to make voice calls using an Internet connection instead of traditional phone lines. With VoIP you may call anyone with a phone number whether local calls, long distance calls, mobile, or even international numbers with the clarity connection you only dream of as well as low monthly prices. Although some VoIP services will function over your computer and some providers permit you to use a traditional phone connected to a VoIP adapter, we prefer the unique performance of VoIP over a Structured Cabling infrastructure.

What Do you Need?

VoIP requires a high-speed Internet connection, a network connected to a least a DOCIS 3.0 cable modem, or Fiber Optic connection and a phone that meets the specified criteria. The VOIP that we install is like having two (2) computers side by side except one is for speaking and one is for connecting on the internet, they both connect over the internet. Whatever your need we can assist you in getting you VoIP up and running.

Using a computer will require you to have the necessary software and an inexpensive microphone. VoIP specific phones connect directly to your broadband connection and operates much like a standard telephone. If you use a standard phone with a VoIP adapter, you'll be able make call normally, and depending on the provider may also hear a dial tone.
